Tessellation Town
This is an interactive site that allows the student to manipulate the puzzle pieces to build Tessellation Town. It even has one tutorial that shows how to make compatible shapes suitable for tessallations.
NOTE: The drag and drop interactive capability does not work on a PC when using Netscape as the browser, only with Internet Explorer.

Connect the Dots - Tessellations
This site provides the student with directions for printing a grid sheet of dots to be used as they design a tessellation. It also includes some tips and examples for creating tessellations.

The Tessellation Tool
This is a cool online tool that allows the student to build and manipulate tessellations using shapes that have common lengths that can be positioned and "locked" together to make larger shapes. It also allows the student to use rotation and translation of the shapes to complete the tessallation and to change the colors.
